Areyana Johnson is a trial lawyer with the Houston office of Wiley Wheeler, P.C. She understands that one size does not fit all and that each client’s legal needs and goals are unique. Driven by her commitment to an equitable workplace, she approaches each issue strategically and ensures that her relationship with clients resembles a true partnership.
Ms. Johnson represents employees with claims regarding Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination and Employment Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Ms. Johnson’s forum of practice ranges from state court to federal court to administrative proceedings before the Texas Workforce Commission and the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Ms. Johnson’s passion for law ignited during her undergraduate years at Texas State University where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Here, she served on the Student Judicial Hearing Board and was a member of the San Marcos, TX chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School where her comment was selected for publication in The Sports Lawyers Journal, Vol. 29 (April 2022). Ms. Johnson enjoys being on the water and nature walks when she is not practicing law.
